Gandhi World Foundation and Pudhiya Thalaimurai jointly organized the programme by name “A letter to Gandhi” in October 2016. This programme encouraged the young minds to voice their social concerns to Mahatma and put forth the novel ideas to overcome social hurdles. Around 3600 letters were received from enthusiasts from different states and from different walks of life. Only 20 letters were selected by a team of social activists, educationists, eminent persons from media. Swaathi R. of Grade 6 wrote a letter to Mahatma venting out her anguishes at social calamities and had registering her thought provoking suggestions. Her remarkable words fetched the winner certificate in the school category at the felicitation ceremony held at Madras Museum, Chennai on 30th January 2017.
