Yuvabharathi Model United Nations III

Around 180 students from 11 CBSE and ICSE schools from Coimbatore and Salem registered to participate in YBMUN III.

Yuvabharathi Public School conducted Yuvabharathi Model United Nations III (YBMUN III) on the 27th and 28th of January, 2024. This was a two-day interschool conference where around 180 students from 11 CBSE and ICSE schools from Coimbatore and Salem registered to participate. YBMUN's first chapter was held in 2021–22 as a virtual intraschool edition, and the second chapter was conducted as a physical intraschool edition in January 2023.

Mr. Anil Srinivasan, the founder of Rhapsody & Kruu, graced the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest and delivered a thought-provoking speech that focused on unlocking success as a young leader by mastering specific quintessential skills. Ms. Geetha Jayachandran, the Principal, honoured the guest with a memento.

Themed on Peace and Sustainability, YBMUN Chapter 3 had six committees (DISEC, IMF, UNHCR, UNCOPUOS, UNEP, and WHO) with agendas based on contemporary issues like the Israel-Palestine conflict, fiscal policies for economic recovery in war zones, the impact of climate change and natural disasters on internal displacement, sustainable space technology, environmental protection in war zones, and SDGs 3 and 6.

Ms. Meenakshi Vaidyanathan, Academic Advisor at Yuvabharathi, presided over the Yuvabharathi Model United Nations III closing ceremony. The prize winners were presented with certificates, and Yuvabharathi Public School won the Best Delegation Award for their outstanding overall performance.
