Yuvabharathi Commemorates Mahakavi Bharathiar's 144th birth anniversary

The 144th birth anniversary of Mahakavi Bharathiar was celebrated for a whole week by the Tamil Department at Yuvabharathi Public School, Coimbatore. To introduce students to the works of poet Bharathi, competitions in speech, essay, music, painting, letter-writing, elocution, and fancy dress were held. Students and teachers participated enthusiastically in various competitions held during the Bharathi Week. Bharathi Week culminated with a special event named "Bharathi Vizha" celebrating the greatness of Mahakavi Bharathiyar and the excellence of his songs, held on the 11th of December 2025, in the school auditorium. The Bharathi song was sung, the Kannan song was performed as a dance, and ninth-grade student Wajeeha M gave a stirring speech on "Bharathi's Pudhumai Penn". The Chief Guest of the event, Prof. T. Shanthamani, a renowned Debater & Motivational speaker, outlined Bharathi's thoughts and explained the modern student-teacher-parent relationship in her keynote address. The Chief Guest and the school's Executive Director, Mrs. Nehaarika Sanjeev, presented prizes to the children who emerged as the winners of various competitions held during Bharathi Week.
