Sandhya Raag 2025

Yuvabharathi Public School celebrated the seventh edition of its signature event, Sandhya Raag, at the school auditorium on the 28th of November 2025. Sandhya Raag, a festival of performing arts, has been designed exclusively to host performances by seasoned practitioners of classical music and dance.

Sandhya Raag Season 7 was presided over by Ms. Kaamya Sri Parasram, the school's alumna and Carnatic vocalist who has performed in many bhajan and Carnatic concerts in and around Coimbatore, Chennai, Kolkata and many cities in Kerala. The programme commenced with a lighting ceremony followed by the group song accompanied by a harmonious ensemble of musical instruments. The entire event featured performances by five vocalists, eight instrumentalists, and 12 dancers, each displaying their unique art forms. A lively Parai performance by the students added a traditional touch to the event. The programme culminated with the Chief Guest performing a brief medley of three songs based on the same raaga. She also addressed the gathering by sharing her experiences as a participant in Sandhya Raag and how it shaped her journey into music. Ms. Geetha Jayachandran, the Principal, honoured the Chief Guest with a memento. The parent representative thanked the management for its initiative in preserving traditional art forms by showcasing the best performances selected through a comprehensive, meticulous screening process. In a time when cultural practices often face gradual decline, Sandhya Raag encourages the students to uphold and embody the richness of traditional art forms.
