Yuvabharathi Celebrates Primary Sports Day

Yuvabharathi celebrated the annual Sports Day of the primary wing at Yuva Enclave on the 26th of January 2024. The event began with the Tamizh Thai Vazhthu, followed by the welcome address delivered by Ms. Vinolia, Vice-principal (Primary wing). The Principal, Ms. Geetha Jayachandran, unfurled the national flag and marked the official commencement of the day's events.

The colourful walk past showcased students' unity, cooperation, and team spirit. Sreenithi M of grade 5D led the Maple House, Thanvi Sai Muruganand of Grade 5A led the Oak House, Deepak Koothottil of grade 5E led the Cedar House, and Mohit G of grade 5A led the Pine House. Their achievements in various sports competitions were highlighted.

Mr. Rajesh, Head of the Department of Physical Education, delivered the annual sports report, enlightening the audience with an overview of the year's achievements and challenges. Ms. Meenakshi Vaidyanathan, the academic advisor, declared the sports day open.

The track and field events unfolded with zeal and robustness. A yoga display by students highlighted the importance of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Grade 2 students showcased their hula hoops drill. The flag drill by grade 3 students, symbolizing pride and identity, added colours to the ambience.

A lively Zumba performance brought fitness to the forefront, proving that exercise can be both enjoyable and beneficial. The flower drill performed by the grade 1 students showcased the coexistence of discipline and beauty. Taekwondo athletes demonstrated their skills, showcasing the traditional Korean martial arts for self-defence and spiritual development. The Gymnastics display exhibited strength, flexibility, and courage. Grades 4 and 5 students presented an awe-inspiring pipe drill, showcasing coordination and teamwork. The much-anticipated moment arrived with the announcement of the Overall champions.

Winners of various track and field events and competitions received their well-deserved medals, and the Overall Championship trophy was awarded to the Maple House. The Pine House finished as the runner-up.

Poorvi of grade 5B delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants, organizers, and attendees. The annual Primary Sports Day 2024 was a celebration of athleticism, teamwork, and the spirit of sportsmanship.
