Cross-country running is a remarkably effective and useful way to stay in shape. Yuvabharathi Public School has conducted Cross Country Race since 2014 to encourage students to remain healthy and fit.
On July 22, 2023, Yuvabharathi Public School held the seventh iteration of its annual Cross Country Race. Nearly 600 harriers, including students from Grades 4 to 12 and enthusiastic parents, participated in the 3 km, 5 km, and 7 km categories. Mr. Arumuganar, Sub-Inspector of Police, Chinnathadagam, flagged off the 7 km category, and the harriers started their open-air courses from Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Chinnathadagam.
Mr. Arumuganar, Ms. Geetha Jayachandran, the Principal, and Mr. Sanjeev Anand, the Correspondent, honoured the top three finishers in all the categories with medals and certificates during the prize distribution ceremony. All the finishers were awarded medals and certificates.
Running as a group can be inspiring, and through running, confidence is increased, stress is reduced, and mood is elevated. This cross-country race will undoubtedly encourage students to incorporate sports and physical activity into their daily lives.
