Examinations in Speech and Drama conducted by Trinity College, London at Yuvabharathi Public School.
Yuvabharathi Public School, Coimbatore has pioneered a programme to enhance Speech and Drama skills among children across Classes 1 to 9. It is also the first school in Coimbatore that undertook the examinations in Speech and Drama offered by the Trinity College, London. It was conducted on 10th and 13th of February 2017.
Around 130 students from Grade 1to 9 appeared in this exam. It focused on Young Performers Certificate- Silver and Bronze Exams, where children from Class 1 and 2 presented drama on contemporary themes with narration, music, dance and dialogues. Students from Class 3 and above appeared for Initial Entry, Foundation Level - Grade 1 and 2 examinations in Speech and Drama. Trinity College, London is an awarding body recognized by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation in England.
Among the 40 Initial, Grade 1 and Grade 2 examinees, 21 were awarded distinction and 19 were awarded Merit. All the Young Performers received Bronze and Silver grades. The Examiner lauded the performance of the students who demonstrated kaleidoscope of expressions. He also showered praise on the Principal Ms. Geetha Jayachandran, and the teachers for taking this novel initiative and making efforts to nurture the talents of the young performers.
