IITKGP (Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur) Young Innovators’ Program. More than 500 teams (teams comprising of 2 to 3 members) from classes VIII, IX and X from 100 + schools across India participated in this competition. The themes of ‘IITKGP Young Innovators’ Program’ included Energy, Agriculture and Food Sciences, Environment, Hardware Modelling and Product designing. After a tough competition 60 teams finally qualified for the second round of the Young Innovators' Program 2017. The abstracts of four teams from Yuvabharathi got selected to the second round and they submitted the synopsis of their project ideas. (The teams: Tejaswini B. K., and Harinisri of Grade 10, Tejas Srinivas, Maithreyan G., and Kevin Christopher of Grade 10, Tarun G.S., and Roshan Vasudev G. of Grade 9 and Ronak S., Adithya H., and Sai Siddharth of Grade 10)
Two teams - Tejaswini B. K., and Harinisri (Design Name: Seed Meter) & Tejas Srinivas, Maithreyan G., and Kevin Christopher (Design Name- Robots In Agriculture to Reduce Human Workforce) cleared the second round and made to the top 24 teams from all over India beating 500+ teams and 100+ schools.
The finalists attended the two-day grand finale on 28th and 29th October 2017 at IIT Kharagpur, accompanied by their coordinating teachers Mr. Manoj Kumar and Ms. Swathi Suresh.
