IIT Madras' Orientation Programme

There is an urgent need for Data Scientists in the market as it is considered one of the most promising jobs. Being in demand, it has given rise to a large number of career opportunities in its various fields.

The Career Guidance Cell at Yuvabharathi Public School in association with IIT Madras organized a district-level Orientation programme on IIT Madras’ World’s First ‘B.Sc. Degree in Programming and Data Science for Grade 11 and 12 students’ on the 9th of July 2022 at the auditorium.

The USP of this degree programme is that it can be pursued online by any of the students in Grade XI and XII (any stream) and does not require JEE.

Ms. Kamala Ramakrishnan, Chief Manager at NPTEL and Global Head of Exam Operations of NPTEL & the IIT Madras B.Sc. program and Ms. Diya Naidu, Digital Marketer, IIT Madras B.Sc. program were the resource persons for the programme. Mr. Arun, Course Instructor, IITM joined the resource persons to answer the queries posed by the students and the teachers during the following interactive session.

Around 200 students from 20 schools in Coimbatore, Pollachi and Tirupur attended this orientation programme and 240 senior secondary students from Yuvabharathi Public School attended another session of the same programme.
