We all face challenges in life and attaining success is not easy. That’s what we think, right? Too often we convince ourselves that success requires massive action and keep ourselves away from it. We put ourselves under immense pressure where we give up at one point of time. But we don’t realize that the key for it lies in small habits.

The quality of our lives depends on the quality of our habits.

It is very easy to overestimate the importance of one defining moment and underestimate the value of making small improvements on a daily basis thus making it a habit. Improving by 1% on a daily basis may not even be noticeable. Think of this 1% with some mathematics. If you can better yourself by 1% every day for a period of one year, you end up improving yourself 37 times better than what you were on day one. On the contrary, if you get worse by the same 1%, which is again not even noticeable, you nearly get to a point of zero.

1% worse every day for one year .99(365) =00.03

We often discount small changes because it does not bring in the desired results at that moment. But we fail to comprehend that it is this incremental 1% improvement that puts us in the path towards success.

If you want to predict where you will end up in life, all you have to do is follow the curve of tiny gains/losses and see how it manifests down the line.
