Yuvabharathi's Career Guidance Month

Yuvabharathi Public School observed September 2023 as Career Guidance Month, which aims to guide students to make informed career decisions and be industry 4.0 ready. To keep the students abreast of the new avenues, the Career Guidance Cell of Yuvabharathi organised a series of talks and interactive sessions by experts from various industries and academia.

Careers in the Hospitality Industry

With the global industry continuing to develop and diversify every year, hospitality stands as one of the world's fastest-growing employment sectors. An interactive session on Careers in the Hospitality Industry was conducted on the 5th of September 2023 by Ms.Andrea Mata, Manager- Outreach at the Indian School of Hospitality. She threw light on reimagining hospitality for today's generation and tomorrow's businesses. The resource person explained the array of opportunities that students might pursue in the faculty of Hospitality. She emphasised an ideal foundation for managerial and leadership development, entrepreneurship and lifelong learning.

Yuvabharathi's Counselling Day 2023

Yuvabharathi's Career Guidance Cell in association with IDP conducted "Counselling Day" an intensive and comprehensive discussion session on various higher educational vistas open for different streams. The programme was guided by Mr. Anand Jeyasingh, Career Counsellor at Yuvabharathi, and attended by around 220 students from grades 11 and 12 on the 7th of September, 2023 at the school auditorium.

The event focused on disseminating information as required by the students of grades 11, and 12 about the colleges, courses, culture and facilities abroad. Counsellors representing various countries like the UK, the US, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia had a face-to-face and detailed discussion with our students. The students received guidance from the educational consultants based on their desired destinations and areas of interest. Counselling Day is the second in a series of events scheduled for Yuvabharathi's Career Guidance Month.

Seminar on "Opportunities and the future of blockchain technology"

As a part of Career Guidance Month, Yuvabharthi Public School's Career Guidance Cell organised a seminar on "Opportunities and the future of blockchain technology" on the 8th of September 2023 at the school auditorium. The Resource Person, Dr. K. Ramalakshmi, a Professor at Alliance College of Engineering and Design, Alliance University dwelled deep into Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Wireless Sensor Networks. Students from Grades 11 and 12 had a glimpse into blockchain technology and how it has found its way into various fields. This interactive session helped the students understand how blockchain is more likely to be a sustaining innovation rather than a disruptive innovation.

Pathways to Emerging Domains in an Unpredictable World

Yuvabharathi CG Cell, on its Career Guidance Month, organised a talk on "Pathways to Emerging Domains in an Unpredictable World" delivered by Mr. Nirmal Pradeep Joseph, Senior Manager - Outreach and Admission, Vidyashilp University on the 13th of September 2023. His engaging presentation introduced the students of grades 11 and 12 to new perspectives on the changing global landscape and provided insights into the ways of navigating the unpredictable world. The informative session threw light on new careers and courses that are tailor-made for emerging global trends and challenged the students to look beyond the traditional streams.

Careers in Artificial Intelligence

With the advent of ChatGPT and AI becoming embedded in our consciousness by bringing a sea change in all professions, Yuvabharathi's CG cell convened an interactive seminar on "Careers in Artificial Intelligence ''. Around 350 students from grades 10, 11 and 12 and teachers attended this thought-provoking session conducted by Dr. Kaushik Sripathi Hatti, Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Data Scientist, Pinochle, Rezilyens group, on the 14th of September, 2023. Dr. Hatti explained the changing paradigms in light of the recent AI boom and struck a constructive tone with the students by expounding on the job opportunities. The audience received this interactive session well, and the second session on this intriguing topic will be conducted in October 2023.

On the Leverage of International Education

The final leg of Yuvabharathi's Career Guidance Month culminated with the counselling session conducted by Mr. Vivek Gupta, In-Country Manager- India, Montpellier Business School, a leading international management school in France. International education counselling is undergoing a revolutionary shift, opening new doors of opportunities for students and institutions. During his presentation, Mr.Gupta elaborated on the advantages of pursuing higher education at an international business school and provided guidance for grade 12 students on how to gain admission into reputed institutions. Ms.Geetha Jayachandran, the Principal, announced that the school is working on collaborative associations with international universities to benefit the senior secondary students.
